A while back I called DC Sports. They told me from their testing ( and I gather they used a dyno ), that they recommend their 4-2-1 header over their 4-1.

Endyn while making a header for forced induction, came across the Kamakaze header which they found to be nearly identical to their designs. They tested it and found results to be the best they'd ever tested ( and I gather they too used a dyno, see http://www.theoldone.com/components/kamikazi/ ).

The hi-tech header ( http://www.theoldone.com/misc/hitech/ ) is most likely one of the best, but it's going to cost a lot of money. But if you notice it's based on the same principles of the Kazi, and the 4-2-1 DC header, with larger shorter primaries.

Then their is the JDM Type R header. This guy is pretty good too. It has larger piping, but it's more than twice the price of the Kazi headers, and more than DC too.

I'm sure anybody will gain power with just about any header. But the above are my list of choices.

I find it amusing that people say this header is better than that because yada yada yada. Nobody will do a back to back dyno test because they will be scared to post the results.

Therefore you either buy the sales pitch or the BS from the Internet.

I find it amazing that anybody would use a DC 4-1 header for forced induction, even when DC themselves say the 4-2-1 header makes more power for forced induction over their 4-1 header. It's their header, they don't care which one they sell.

With regards to the Kazi header, if you read the Endyne page, they did testing on different headers, and said the Kazi header made more power than any other, other than the $1000 headers they were designing. I would hardly call that BS from the Internet, when they put the kazi header on EVERY car they build. As for it being a sales pitch, sure it is. But why wouldn't they want to sell the best they can. Have you ever known Endyn to sell something they don't use or prefer. If anything, Endyn recommends only the best, regardless of price. They don't care if you buy it, the just want to recommend the best stuff.

Want to see the difference between a stock header and SSBP's killer DC 4-1 header?

From that dyno proven graph we clearly see that the powerful DC 4-1 makes this 2 ft-lbs of torque only from just under 7k - 8k (how often do you drive there?), but makes less power on the low cams. Is this the header SSBP is recommending as the best header for FI?

    Cool

To anyone who has a Kamakaze header or has put one on a car. I was looking at the picture lundgren posted from Endyn and would like to know if the header will bolt up to the stock cat or not.
Thanks alot guys and it looks like i'll have a DC4-1 for sale soon also.

According to Larry " The best way to do the exhaust system on the GSR is to rum a Type R header configuration, which eliminates the separate intermediate pipe. The CAT fits up to the rear of the header's collector. It's much more efficient...and Kamikaze doesn't make a 2.5" intermediate tube either."

    So yes it will fit.

The real dyno graph I have is much smoother that the one I provided for the IDC/Lundgren. The power gains are from 4400 - 8000.

I personally do not give a fuck if you buy the DC 4-1 header. It worked for me and that is all that matters.

    Preach on brother Lundgren!

Guys, I guess everybody really knows that the stock header of the GSR flows extremely well. I'm just like the next guy and I went out and got the DC 4-2-1. Fortunately it crapped out and failed within days from when I got it. The folks at DC were absolutely no help. Pissed as I was I bought a 4-2-1 A'pex SS header. It has much larger primaries than the DC or the Comptech and the design is quite different (you can tell by the way it fits (or does not fit) when you install it. The Apex makes a noticeable butt dyno improvement over the DC. However, I think the DC was not as good as the stock header so I could probably saved myself a bunch of cash for other stuff by keeping the stock header. Well, anyway, the A'pex does look quite cool and seems to work fine so I'm fine with it. I guess to each his own.

kennethhoffpauir: whaz UP!--hey foo jus get da 4-2-1 DC sports not that P.O.dogshitz 4-1 header cuz that bullshitz gots phatazz primaries that be flow'n hella good for da highend 7gs and beyond f--k'n infinity but, watch out for yo low and mid cuz no backpressure be it f--k'n N/A bull or FI...these ba-itchazz 4s needs some ta keep ta torque up!--believe that. plus 4-1 shitz be hang'n hella low so if yo ride is slammed that hunk of metal is gonna be scrape'n over a little ba-itchazz driveway! f--k them Kamakaze headers...they be make'n pwr by endyn but, they cheapazz junk that crack and they aint even carb legal and bout that hi-tech nonsense...everybody know...til it come out wid dynos ta prove...$1500 is jus pipe dreams like da old muthaf--kers supercharger--non-existent shitz! yeah, how bout extrude hone'n yo stock exhaust header cuz they did that shitz on the SCC header vs. header test and it did jus as good as some of those other aftermkt. f--kers!

green95gsr: whaz UP!--what da f--k ya mean da DC crapped outty on ya? sounds like a factory defect mann, that P.O.S. is under warranty and ya should jus send that f--ker back for a full refund or atleast get a new one...damn...haste makes waste, brutha...think before ya ACT.
